The American social network wants to strengthen its multimedia business . From now on , the " little blue bird " will share advertising revenue from videos posted on its platform with the respective creators .

This move is not new , nor surprising. YouTube already shared revenues from videos with users who produced them . What is really different is the percentage of revenue that will be returned . Google's video platform delivers 55 % of revenues to creators of videos , while Twitter will return 70 % of revenues, according to Reuters.
This new business model is the extent of the revenue sharing program that already existed between the platform and its partners such as CBS or the NFL. Revenues come from advertising shown before the start of playback of videos that will be displayed both on the web and on mobile devices.

With this new program , which is limited to the United States , Twitter plans to develop its video aspect, to face the competition , like Snapchat , YouTube and Facebook , where multimedia content are already the soul of business .
