AdBlock Plus wants to sell more ads ...

The ad blocker has long adopted a new strategy in this segment. Now, instead of censuring, the software wants to act as an ad filter.

The AdBlock Plus is a popular ad blockers, but now will implement some changes to its service that give following the amendment of its purpose. Now, instead of hiding, the program wants to filter ads.

This Tuesday, the company announced on its official blog to create a new "advertising market" that will serve to replace those that present a more intrusive way. In practice, the program wants to allow online publications and other pages to select ads "acceptable" from a catalog designed a prioriti to be shown even to those who have the browser extension on.

To The Verge, the director of the company's communications, Ben Williams, explained that this is a way "to monetize the two ecosystems [filtered and unfiltered]" and ad blockers own.

This is not, however, a complete novelty. In 2011 AdBlock Plus has come up with a program that priveligiava acceptable ads at the expense of the less subtle. Adherence to the websites of little part by program forced the company to rethink its approach to ad filtering with this new market that the company promises to be easier to use.

It is recalled that in the past the company has tried several times to come up with monetary compensation strategies for websites that saiem harmed by hiding ads.
