Although less publicized than in the U.S.A., American football begins to be increasingly known in the old continent. The last few years have seen a growth in the number of practitioners and enthusiasts. For this very contributed one of the most popular sports franchise video games. Developed by Electronic Arts for EA Sports, the franchise Madden NFL has existed since 1988 - and its original name John Madden Football.



Madden NFL 17 is the latest release of this franchise and promises to bring more fans to the sport. We played a few games, experiencing the different game modes and let you our impression of a game that promises to be one of the best of the year.

After Madden NFL 25, whose reception was not expected, the franchises of the following years - including Madden NFL 15 and Madden NFL 16 - managed to get the series back on track. Madden NFL 17 is presented as the natural follow-up to this improvement. The presented graphics are absolutely fine, the menus are well designed and are extremely intuitive.

When starting the game, the player is taken to a tutorial - which is presented in a format similar to the skill games FIFA franchise - where you can learn the basic rules of the sport, as well as to move on the pitch, the block opponents and grab the ball using different techniques. the basic concepts relating to the roles of the various players in a game, as well as the concepts for each of the different possible configurations are also explained.

During the games, we have also provided a number of visual indicators, including power windows when we kick the ball or the indication of the players who can pass - each command button corresponds to a different player.

For those who do not know, or are not used to this franchise, the franchise mode is a completely new way that allows us to fully manage the team. The well-designed and intuitive interface makes it easy for us to task, making us recommendations on which players to buy, sell or promote, which allows us to not spend as much time involved in all the paperwork.

The player can also enable the Moment Play option. With this option only we have direct action at certain times of the game, controlling only the most important plays of each game, greatly reducing the total time of each meeting. Thus, using this option, each player will have only direct intervention in the most offensive plays of his team which, for those who prefer defensive moments, it may seem that the defense was left aside. Nothing wrong because the defending team was greatly improved especially with regard to artificial intelligence: the various players of our defensive line always try to look for the best position to counter the opponent's moves without ruining the formation of the team itself.

With regard to the presentation of the game and graphics, there is really nothing to point. The work is excellent. Every time we start a game, it is easy to forget us that this is not a television broadcast such realism given to the game. The various stages are designed in sublime form and players of the various teams are very detailed.

The movements of the various players are also recreated perfectly. Since ball reception to the clashes between players, the field in realism turns Madden NFL 17 an authentic football simulation.

But there, in the midst of so many good things, a detail that - albeit minor - could improve a little and contribute to a better gaming experience. We refer to the waiting time or the loading of games either in loading menus. Resolving this issue, Electronic Arts transform this game into what would be the most complete football simulation ever.
